Mam has begun noticing groups of like items. I know it sounds crazy. She pointed these pictures out to me.
Now Mam didn't ask me to start a collection of something for her. She just notices them. I am not sure if she likes it, or thinks it strange that there would be a group of the same things all placed together. I choose to believe that she likes it. So, with Christmas around the corner, I am thinking of starting a collection of something for Mam. Any ideas?

Get her a Christmas tree for her room and start a collection of ornaments. My mom did this for Lacey and I did it for Walker. They love decorating their own little tree every year! Elly has started Kate a collection of the small Madame Alexander dolls. Its seems she likes china based on the pictures, so maybe interesting tea cups or dessert plates. By the time she is grown and has a family, she will have a great collection for entertaining!
I think that she should collect antique hankies. They are dainty and sassy, just like she is! I also do like the idea of aprons, but that is only because I have collected them since I was a little girl. Antique hankies are precious to me - My grandmother collected these as a child and she was able to give each of the grandaughter's (8 to be exact) one to carry at our weddings. It was very special to each of us! (Just in case you wanted to know the whole reason behind why I feel she should collect antique hankies.)
Hope this helps!
I think that you should allow her to collect seashells or fun shaped rocks. Have Al build her a shadow box table using an old window as the top - put plexi glass on top of that to protect the window. She can use the table in her room for tea time. She can also change out her collection in the shadow box.

I second the hankie idea!

I took a cue from Jessica's baby shower and have started a collection of miniature tea sets for our baby girl. I thought it was a precious idea. (she's already getting one for Christmas this year) Ma'am seems to like china based things. I like the idea of the desert plates and LOVE the idea from meagan for the hankies. How special is that??? I love it.
Ok...I am not a blogger, so I hope this reaches it's intended destination. I surely dig Meagan's hankie idea, but how would you keep them from yellowing with age, or maybe that isn't important. I think I like the idea of collecting music boxes. I believe little Miss Mam would love the idea of dancing to the beat of her own music box! :)

Here goes again. This is random, but the other day I pulled out Luther's commentary on Galatians and out came a pic of ST when he was 4 or 6 months old! I couldn't believe it and to think how big he is now!
I get our kids a mint julep cup each year for Easter, but Christmas would be a good time to give them too. They are timeless and can be used at showers, luncheons and even as vases. I love the pictures you posted!!
