Snaggle-tooth Jones (or Renfroe)

Well, last week we finally had Taye's teeth pulled (sob, sob). They desperately needed to come out after he fell last month. I had a hard time with having them pulled so early because they won't be back in for a few YEARS! (yikes!) I had to remind myself that worse things could happen.

After a few days I have not only gotten used to Taye with a "hole" (as he puts it), I think it suits him well. For those of you who don't know, Taye is a pirate for 20 of the 24 hours in a day. We do all things pirate. We build ships, use swords, talk in a a raspy voice, fight off other "bad pirates," etc. My dad even says Taye has a promising future as a professional pirate.
There are several different pirates that take up residence in our house. Because Taye has created and named each one, we have to guess which one he is and ONLY call him that. See if you can tell the difference between:
Captian Jack

Pirate Taye

Captian Sweet Tooth

The Bad Pirate

Captian Hook

The Sweet Pirate

Here is a pic of the pirate' s "gear" while he is in the bathtub. That kid has some definite piratitude!

He has also been using his toothlessness to his advantage. Miss Missy at his school recently told my mother-in-law this story: Miss Missy uses a whistle to call the kids in from the playground. Whistles are loud and shiny and Taye loves things that are loud and shiny, so he asked Miss Missy if he could blow her whistle. She told him that it had her cooties on it, so he couldn't blow it. Taye thought for a second, then informed her that he wouldn't get her cooties from her whistle because he had a hole he could put the whistle in to blow it!
